Redrow plc ('the Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob
Bennett, 59, as an independent non-executive director effective from 1 May 2007.



Bob served for fourteen years as Group Finance Director of Northern Rock plc,
the specialised lending and savings bank, until his retirement from the Board on
31 January 2007.  Bob is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in
England and Wales and brings with him a wealth of experience and understanding
of finance and the dynamics of the UK housing market.  Bob will be appointed
Chairman of the Audit Committee from 1 July 2007.



Commenting upon Bob's appointment, Jim Martin, Acting Chairman of Redrow said 'I
am delighted to welcome Bob to the Board.  His strong financial background and
extensive experience of the UK housing market mean that he is well placed to
contribute to Redrow's future development'.
