On 16 October 2006, Rathbone Brothers Plc ordinary shares of 5p were acquired at
£12.05 (the closing mid market price on 13 October 2006) by Hill Samuel ESOP
Trustees Limited who are the Trustees of The Rathbone Inland Revenue Approved
Employee Share Incentive Plan ('the Plan'). The purchase was in respect of the
reinvestment of dividends paid into the Plan. The registered holder is Lloyds
TSB Registrars Corporate Nominees Limited. A/c AESOP1.
