                       ANNOUNCEMENT OF S.198 NOTIFICATION

QinetiQ Group plc (the 'Company') announces, in accordance with Listing Rule
9.6.7, that the Company was notified on 20 February 2006 pursuant to section 198
of the Companies Act 1985 that Lehman Brothers International (Europe), as at 14
February 2006, had an interest in 20,477,437 ordinary shares of the Company. As
at 20 February 2006, this represents 3.15% of the issued share capital of the
Company.
