                       ANNOUNCEMENT OF S.198 NOTIFICATION

QinetiQ Group plc (the 'Company') announces, in accordance with Listing Rule
9.6.7, that the Company was notified on 16 February 2006 pursuant to section 198
of the Companies Act 1985 that the entities named below, as at 15 February 2006,
no longer had a notifiable interest in the ordinary shares of 1p each in the
Company.

(i)    J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. of 125 London Wall, London EC2Y 5AJ
       and its group companies;

(ii)   Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited of One Cabot Square,
       London E14 4QJ; and

(iii)  Merrill Lynch International of Merrill Lynch Centre, 2 King Edward
       Street, London EC1A 1HQ.
