Disclosure of Interest in Share Capital

On 1 November 2004 the Company received notification by Merrill Lynch & Co Inc.
('MLCI') that, as at 26 October 2004, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Ltd and/
or its subsidiaries ('MLIM'), following the purchase of 127,148 shares, had a
notifiable interest of 23,978,650 ordinary 1p shares in the Company representing
9.79% of the issued share capital of the Company.

ordinary shares and an additional 2,921,635 ordinary 1p shares following the

the Company.
