                    Portmeirion Group plc ( the 'Company')



On 27 June 2001, the Company received notification that as a result of a
purchase of 15,000 ordinary shares on 26 June 2001, Fortress Finance
Investment Inc., a British Virgin Islands corporation, now has an interest in
842,000 ordinary shares in the company, representing 8.11% of the issued
ordinary share capital.
