PORTMEIRION POTTERIES (HOLDINGS) PLC (THE 'COMPANY')

Portmeirion Potteries (Holdings) PLC announces that the following Director has
acquired shares as follows:

L F Bryan purchased 10,000 shares in the company on 1 June 2000 at a price of
£1.70 per share, resulting in a beneficial holding of 58,000 Ordinary shares of
5p each.

The Company also announces that the retirement of Mr A J Philpott as a
Non-executive Director took effect on 1 June, 2000.
