Portmeirion Group PLC (AIM: PMP) announces today that Michael Haynes, Group Sales and Marketing Director, will be resigning from his position as a director of the Group with effect from 12 February 2013 and retiring from the Group at the end of March 2013.

Philip Edward Atherton will be appointed to the Board as Group Sales and Marketing Director with effect from 12 February 2013.

Philip, 46, spent 12 years in the drinks industry working in a number of commercial roles with Remy & Associates (UK) Limited, The Gaymer Group Limited and Allied Domecq PLC where he gained extensive experience of working with premium brands.  Since 1999 Philip has been the Sales and Marketing Director of the Home Textiles Division of the John Cotton Group Limited. John Cotton Group Limited is a family-owned business with 800 people and annual sales of £120 million. It is Europe's leading manufacturer of pillows and duvets.  During his time at John Cotton, Philip was successful in overseeing major sales and profit growth, acquisitions in both the UK and Europe as well as building new business resulting in significant market leadership for the company.
