                             HOLDING IN THE COMPANY

The Company was notified on 22 July 2005 that Fidelity International Limited
('FIL'), together with its direct and indirect subsidiaries, now has an interest
in 4,309,747 SOCO International plc ordinary shares of £0.20 each ('Shares'),
representing 5.93% of the issued share capital of the Company.

This follows a change in holdings amounting to a reduction of 533,550 Shares,
representing 0.73% of the issued share capital of the Company, since FIL's last
notification to the Company.
