Petra Diamonds Limited ('Petra' or 'the Company'), the AIM-quoted and ASX-listed
diamond mining group, announces that Kevin Dabinett, Chief Operations Officer,
has announced his intention to leave the Company effective 31 May 2006.



A handover of his responsibilities is underway and will be complete by the end
of May. Petra's operations managers will take on responsibilities for Kevin's
existing duties on a country by country basis, reporting directly to the Board.
The position of COO will not be replaced.



The Board would like to thank Kevin Dabinett for the dedication and support he
has given to the Company and wish him every success for the future.
