Parity Awarded £1.2M Contract with new public body
Parity Group PLC, the UK IT services group, has been awarded a £1.2M contract,
over 2 years, with the Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR), the new
non-departmental public body that will tackle inequality and discrimination, and
promote human rights. Parity will be developing a new website for the CEHR that
will be one of its main communication tools and a major information resource for
employers, public bodies and the public.
The underlying platform of Parity's solution is based on Microsoft Office
SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) which allows content to be shared and re-used by
third party organisations via multiple channels such as internet, intranet and
extranet. MOSS integrates with existing Microsoft Office tools such as Word and
provides a cost effective solution for organisations to connect and interact
with people through their own websites. Parity has established a track record of
delivering leading edge websites for many organisations which include complex
taxonomy, polls & surveys, discussion forum, chat rooms, web-chat, micro-sites
and transactional services.
Parity bid competitively to win the contract, and is acting as prime contractor
and systems integrator. Work on the project has commenced, and will be completed
by October 2007, with the launch of CEHR.
Alwyn Welch, Parity Chief Executive, commented:
'This is an excellent win for our Solutions business, reflecting the benefits of
investing in the growth of this division. This win further cements the strong
position we are building in the new Microsoft MOSS technology. We are delighted
to add such a reputable name to our market-leading list of public sector
clients, and particularly look forward to building a platform for CEHR, which
will be of great importance to many people in our society.'
