Re: Swedish Zinc Results

Ovoca Resources PLC 09 September 2004 STARTS OVOCA ENCOURAGED BY SWEDISH ZINC RESULTS Ovoca Resources Plc (Ovg.i Dublin : Ovg.l London) is pleased to announce the granting of new Exploration Claim, Akerland Nr 1, by the Vasterbotten District Mine Inspector. Ovoca channel samples taken across the breccia zone returned grades up to 24.8% zinc and 5g/t silver over 1 meter. Initial work will concentrate on defining the strike and vertical extension of mineralistion. Akerland Nr 1 is located to the west of the 'Gold Line' in northern Sweden. The claim increases Ovoca's 'Gold Line' exploration portfolio to a total land holding of 26,500 ha. The claim covers the old Akerland mine which was worked intermittently between 1920 and 1922. Approximately 10,000 tonnes of ore were extracted by hand during this period with an average grade of 17.3 % zinc, 15 g/t silver and 0.5 g/t gold. The vertical extent of the old workings is limited to approximately 15 meters. Mineralisation occurs in a north-south trending fault breccia zone which includes scattered lenticular and anastomosing carbonate-dominated veins. This additional licence area is consistant with Ovoca's strategy of identifying potentially high value projects so as to bring medium to long term value to Ovoca shareholders.
