The issuer has made the following amendment to the Purchase of Own Shares
announcement released 16 August 2005 at 16:16 under RNS NO 1676Q.

The number of shares purchased for cancellation was 20,000 ordinary shares of
25p each and not 20,500 ordinary shares as previously shown.

PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

The Company announces that on 16 August 2005 it purchased for cancellation under
an existing authority granted by shareholders 20,000 ordinary shares of 25p each
in the market at a price of 73.4p, representing approximately 0.05 per cent of
the Company's issued share capital.  There remain 39,078,186 ordinary shares in
issue.
