THE NORTH AMERICAN Income Trust PLC (the "Company")

ISSUE OF EQUITY

The Company announces that, on 30 May 2013, it issued 1,215,000 new Ordinary shares of 25p each (the "New Shares") for cash at a price of 889.0 pence per share. The shares were issued to meet demand that cannot be satisfied in the secondary market.

Applications have been made for these shares to be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and for admission to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. It is expected that admission to the Official List and commencement of dealings in the Shares on the London Stock Exchange will take place at 8.00 a.m. on 5 June 2013. The Shares will rank pari passu with the Company's existing Shares.

Following this issue, the total number of Ordinary shares in issue is 32,693,582 with each Ordinary share holding one voting right.  Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 32,693,582 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
