Steven Holliday, appointed to the National Grid Board on
30 March 2001, has been granted options over 150,000
NGG Ordinary shares under the Executive Share Option Scheme
effective as of that date. The options were granted at an
exercise price of 540p and are exercisable, subject to
agreed performance criteria, during the period of seven
years from 30 March 2004.

Following the earlier announcement of his appointment
(5 March), there are no other details required to be
disclosed by paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules in
respect of Steven Holliday.
