The Trustee of the National Grid USA Incentive Thrift Plan
yesterday notified National Grid that Mr R P Sergel's
interests in NGG shares have increased by a
further 56.982 Ordinary Share ADRs in total;
following purchases on 24 and 25 January 2001
at prices of $45.68 or $45.75 per ADR.
