Appointment of Non-executive Director

 

 

Mothercare plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Wharton as a non-executive director.  Nick joins the Board with effect from 14 November 2013.

 

Nick Wharton is the Chief Executive Officer at Dunelm Group plc, a role he assumed in December 2010.  Formerly, Nick worked at Halfords Group plc as its Chief Financial Officer, and prior to that he had various finance and international positions with The Boots Company plc and Cadbury Schweppes plc.

 

Commenting on the appointment, Alan Parker CBE, Chairman, said:

 

"I am very pleased that Nick is joining us as a non-executive director.  Nick will bring valuable retail experience to the Mothercare Board."

 

Nick Wharton said:

 

"I am delighted to be joining Mothercare, and look forward to working with Alan and the other members of the Board to support its business both in the UK and Internationally."

Donna Wharton, a connected person of Nick Wharton holds 3,840 Mothercare plc ordinary 50p shares representing 0.0004% of the total voting rights.
