Morgan Sindall PLC 18 February 2002 MORGAN SINDALL PLC ('Morgan Sindall' or 'the Group') Morgan Est signs major utility contract The Board of Morgan Sindall is pleased to announce that its Infrastructure Services division Morgan Est has, through its joint venture company HMB Alliance, been awarded a contract for the construction of new water and wastewater projects from United Utilities. The three-year contract is one of three framework agreements awarded by United Utilities and is potentially worth up to £250 million. The HMB Alliance will be responsible for all the new capital investment works for the northern region (Cumbria and the Ribble Valley). This is the first major partnership agreement that has been signed since the addition of utilities provider Pipeline Constructors to the Group's Infrastructure Services division and highlights the Group's belief that Morgan Est will become one of the leading providers in the expanding utilities sector. John Morgan, Executive Chairman of Morgan Sindall, commented: 'We are delighted that we, and our joint venture partners, have been selected for this important contract. With the utilities market progressing towards further integrated outsourcing, we are confident that Morgan Est will be a major provider in this area.'
