McBride PLC ('the Company') has today been advised pursuant to the provisions of
Section 198 of the Companies Act 1985, that following the recent purchase of
125,000 Ordinary shares, INVESCO Perpetual UK Investment Series (UK ICVC) is the
beneficial owner of 26,707,344 Ordinary shares of 10p each, representing 15.06%
of the issued share capital of the Company.  The shares are registered in the
name of Vidacos Nominees Limited.

This notification is given by AMVESCAP as agent for the ICVC named above, whose
holding for SAR purposes is 35,285,787 ordinary shares (19.90%).
