On 12 January 2017, Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc bought back 2,993 ordinary shares at a price of 227p per share to be HELD AS TREASURY. 

Following this purchase Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc holds 6,837,245 shares in TREASURY, and has a total of 96,745,957 ordinary shares with voting rights (excluding Treasury shares) in issue.
