Transaction in own shares - 1 August 2014

On 1 August 2014 Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc bought back 100,000 ordinary shares at a price of 165p per share to be HELD AS TREASURY. 

Following this purchase Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc holds 2,018,656 shares in TREASURY, and has a total of 102,474,515 ordinary shares with voting rights (excluding Treasury shares) in issue.
