Martin  Currie  Portfolio  Investment Trust plc, on 8 April  2010,  bought  back
20,000   ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of  124.5p  per  share  for   immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 114,007,878 ordinary shares remain in issue.
