Martin  Currie  Portfolio Investment Trust plc, on 17 March  2010,  bought  back
200,000  ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of  121.95p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 115,283,802 ordinary shares remain in issue.
