Martin  Currie  Portfolio  Investment Trust plc, on 28  May  2010,  bought  back
138,000  ordinary  shares  at a price of 115.3882p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 113,303,288 ordinary shares remain in issue.
