Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust plc (the "Company") announces that Ernst & Young has resigned as auditor to the Company with effect from 11 October 2010.

Ernst & Young's resignation is a consequence of an audit tender process held by the Company.

After careful consideration, PwC has been appointed as the replacement auditor to the Company.

PwC's first audit will be for the year ending 31 January 2011.
