LOOKERS PLC

The Directors of Lookers plc are pleased to announce the following appointments
to the Board of the Company from today's date:

Mr Gerard Ryan (Non-Executive Director)

Gerard Ryan is Managing Director of GE Capital Woodchester and a qualified
accountant. Most of Gerard Ryan's career has been spent working in the financial
services sector and in 1989 he joined Moorgate Mercantile PLC, part of the
Woodchester Group. His progression within Woodchester has encompassed a number
of positions including Financial Controller, Company Secretary, Corporate
Development Director and latterly Finance Director.

Lookers believe that Mr Ryan's experience will be an asset to the company as a
Non-Executive Director.


Mr Neil Clyne - (Alternate Director for Gerard Ryan)

Neil Clyne, the Sales Director of GE Capital Woodchester has been appointed to
act as alternate Director for Gerard Ryan. Neil Clyne has over 18 years industry
experience gained primarily in sales and sales management including a variety of
sales and business development roles within Woodchester Finance and Lloyds UDT.


Mr Mark James Kass (Executive Director)

Mark Kass is 33 years old and the Managing Director of the Mark Kass Group, with
dealerships in the Central London and Essex areas. Until the acquisition by
Lookers on July 12th 2000 he was the majority shareholder of Mark Kass Limited.

The co-founder of the business, he was formerly a Regional Director with the AFG
Group of Companies (now Caledonia) until 1995 when the Mark Kass Group acquired
its first garage in Camden. The Group has progressed and now comprises 3 Nissan
dealerships, 2 Toyota and a further dealership in the process of completion.
Turnover for the Group from last financial accounts dated 31st December 1999 was
£42 million and net profit before tax £1,013,000. In 1999 Mark was awarded the
'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' award for Greater London by Ernst & Young, in
conjunction with The Times.

Lookers believe that the sales and marketing expertise of Mr Kass will be a
valuable addition to the development of the Group's businesses in the South
East.

Mr Brian Schumacker (Executive Director)

Mr Brian Schumacker is a Regional Director for Lookers for the operating
divisions of the Group in the Merseyside and Wirral Areas, the North East and a
number of garages in North East Lancashire.

Mr Schumacker is 51 years old and has spent the last 19 years with the Lookers
Group in various senior management positions.

Lookers are very pleased to appoint Brian Schumacker to the Board in recognition
of his success in management at senior level and believe that his experiences as
a Regional Director of the Group will strengthen the experience of the Board at
operations level.
