Lancashire Holdings Limited Announces New Underwriter


HAMILTON, Bermuda - February 10, 2006 - Lancashire Holdings Limited (AIM: LRE)
today announced the intended appointment of Bryan Bumsted as Retrocession
Underwriter and Vice President of Lancashire Insurance Company Limited. The
appointment will take effect upon final approval from the Bermuda Department of
Immigration.

Bryan most recently worked at Everest Reinsurance Company, in the position of
Property Treaty Underwriter, where he underwrote a wide range of property
programs including retrocession, catastrophe excess of loss and per risk excess
of loss.
