Kier signs Norwich Area Schools PFI contract for £79m

Kier Group plc, a member of the Academy Services (Norwich) Ltd consortium,
comprising Dexia Public Finance Bank and Kier Group, has signed a contract to
build six new schools for Norfolk County Council under a £79m private finance
initiative project. The construction element of the project is valued at £41m.

The Kier project team comprises PFI specialist Kier Project Investment, build
contractor Kier Eastern and facilities management subsidiary Kier Managed
Services Limited as service provider for the 25-year term.

Commenting, Kier Group Chief Executive John Dodds, said: "We are very pleased to
have signed this contract with Norfolk County Council for the provision of these
new schools, which will again demonstrate the integrated solution the Kier Group
is able to offer both our public and private sector clients in the provision of
a first-class product."
