KIER PREFERRED TO BUILD £115M BROADMOOR HOSPITAL

Kier has been announced preferred bidder by the West London Mental Health Trust to build the new Broadmoor high-secure mental health hospital at Crowthorne in Berkshire.

The project, valued at £115m, will involve construction of a new hospital, containing 162 mental health beds, to replace the facilities currently provided in outdated buildings. 

Work on the hospital is expected to start late in 2013 and phase 1 will be ready to accept patients by January 2017.
