REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES INTO TREASURY

On Thursday 22^nd December 2011, JPMorgan Japan Smaller Companies Trust plc purchased into Treasury 35,000 ordinary shares at 134.61 pence per share.

Following the transaction the remaining shares in issue total 39,456,487 including 35,000 shares held in treasury.
