Investec - investor (pre-close) briefing - 20 September 2007

Investec will be releasing its results for the six months to 30 September 2007
on 15 November 2007. The management of Investec invites you to attend a
pre-close investor briefing on Thursday, 20 September 2007 commencing at 11:00
(UK time) / 12:00 (SA time). A presentation will be given, focusing on
developments within the core business areas and the group since Investec's
year-end results.

All interested parties may attend the presentation at Investec's Johannesburg or
London offices.  For those people who are unable to attend the briefing, the
following options will be available:
