Transaction in Own Shares

Impax Environmental Markets plc announces that it has purchased
77,500 of its own ordinary shares in the market at an average price
of 102.48p per share.  The highest price paid per share was 103.2p
and the lowest price paid per share was 102.1p.  These shares will be
held in Treasury.

Following this share re-purchase, the Company's issued share capital
will be 305,843,288 ordinary shares.  The Company will be holding
844,005 of these shares in Treasury.  Therefore, the total number of
ordinary shares with voting rights in the Company will be
304,999,283.
