Transaction in Own Shares

Impax Environmental Markets plc announces that it has purchased
50,000 of its own ordinary shares in the market at an average price
of 76.90p per share.  The highest price paid per share was 77.25p and
the lowest price paid per share was 76.00p.  These shares will be
held in Treasury.

Following this share re-purchase, the Company's share capital will be
305,405,220 ordinary shares.  The Company will be holding 215,886 of
these shares in Treasury.  Therefore, the total number of ordinary
shares with voting rights in the Company will be 305,189,334.
