Hunting PLC, the international oil services company, is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr George A. Helland as a non-executive Director.

George Helland joins the Board following an extensive international career as
chief executive, director and consultant in the energy sector, specializing
particularly in the oilfield equipment industry.  A U.S. citizen based in
Houston, Texas, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the U.S. Department
of Energy from 1990 to 1993 with a special role in export assistance.

He is currently a Senior Associate with Cambridge Energy Research Associates
(CERA) of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Chairman of Tokheim Corporation of Fort
Wayne, Indiana, and a Director of the NS Group of Newport, Kentucky.
