MFI FURNITURE GROUP PLC

On 20 August 1999, the Board of MFI Furniture Group plc granted Mr John
Hancock, Chief Executive, 705,000 options in the Group at an exercise price of
39p, exercisable between 20 August 2002 and 20 August 2009.  This brings Mr
Hancock's holding of options over the Group's share capital to 1,490,000 share
options.
