On 16 November 2006, Hiscox plc allotted 12,845 ordinary shares of 5p each at an
exercise price of £1.465 and 8,458 ordinary shares of 5p each at an exercise
price of £1.755 under the Hiscox Approved Share Option Scheme.

Hiscox plc allotted 7,256 ordinary shares of 5p each at an exercise price of
£1.22268, 8,865 ordinary shares of 5p each at an exercise price of £1.32166, and
3,330 ordinary shares of 5p each at an exercise price of £1.5759 under the
Hiscox ShareSave Scheme.

Hiscox plc further allotted 1,030 ordinary shares of 5p each at an exercise
price of £1.465 ordinary shares of 5p each at an exercise price of £1.465 under
the Hiscox Unapproved Share Option Scheme.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p shares
in issue.

The issued share capital of Hiscox plc is now 393,125,170 ordinary shares of 5p
each.
