Publication of HICL's 2021 Sustainability Report

The Board of HICL is pleased to announce the publication of the Company's 2021 Sustainability Report.

HICL is a long-term investor in core infrastructure: assets which, by their nature, are essential to the day-to-day lives of the communities that rely upon them. Embracing the responsibilities that HICL has to a wide range of stakeholders is therefore central to delivering the Company's investment proposition to shareholders over the long term. The Board and the Company's Investment Manager, InfraRed, are united in this perspective and share a commitment to ensuring that HICL's sustainability strategy delivers tangible outcomes.

The Sustainability Report is available on HICL's website and includes a review of our sustainability performance; details of the climate change impact assessment that was undertaken on the Company's portfolio; illustration of HICL's commitment in action via case studies; and an outline of next steps.

Ian Russell, Chairman of the Board, said:

"Providing well-maintained core infrastructure for communities, which also generates sustainable income for shareholders over the long-term, sits at the heart of HICL's Investment Proposition.

"The Board of HICL takes commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance considerations very seriously. The detail in the Report represents a step-change in disclosure which highlights the Company's significant progress against its sustainability strategy. This Report demonstrates the Company's intention to provide leadership on sustainability matters across the infrastructure sector."

Harry Seekings, Head of Infrastructure at InfraRed, said:

"InfraRed strives to be a responsible investment manager, and to develop and manage long-term, sustainable infrastructure.

"We can only achieve long-term success for all stakeholders, including investors, by taking ownership of the environmental, social and governance outcomes across HICL's portfolio. The Investment Manager shares the HICL Board's commitment to embracing sustainability best practice."
