                   Appointment of New Non-Executive Director


Henderson High Income Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Miss
Janet Walker as a non-executive director to the Board with effect from Friday 1
June 2007.


Miss Walker is the Commercial & Finance Director of Ascot Racecourse and a
non-executive director of the Design Council.


Prior to joining Ascot Racecourse, Miss Walker was Director of Finance and
Business Affairs at Channel Four Television and previously Director of Finance
at Granada Media Group.


In accordance with paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules, it is
confirmed that there are no additional details to be disclosed in relation to
Miss Walker.
