Helical Bar plc (the 'Company')

The Company was informed on 7 April 2000 that, on that day, under the rules of
the Helical Bar Profit Sharing Scheme, Helical Bar Trustees Limited allocated
19,295 ordinary shares in Helical Bar at 565p per share to directors and
employees of the company.

Allocations to directors were made as follows:
