Purchase of shares for cancellation

Hargreave Hale AIM VCT1 plc announces that on 28 January 2010 it purchased
102,765 Ordinary shares at a price of 57 pence per share for cancellation.

Following the purchase and cancellation of the above shares, 25,927,009 ordinary
shares of 1p each will remain in issue (excluding treasury shares).
