NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST IN HOLIDAYBREAK PLC ORDINARY 5P SHARES ('shares')

On 25 June 2001, Holidaybreak plc received notification from Standard Life
Investments of 1 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2LL that in terms of Part V of
the Companies Act 1989, Section 134, on 22 June 2001, Standard Life
Investments purchased 46,563 shares on behalf of Standard Life Group.  This
increased the total held as a material interest to 2,325,000 shares being
5.031% of the issued stock of that class (46,217,031).
