    Patrick Kennedy appointed Chief Financial Officer of Greencore Group plc

Patrick Kennedy, today (April 22nd 2002) takes up the position of Chief
Financial Officer of Greencore Group plc.  He replaces Kevin O'Sullivan who
retires from the position.

Patrick (32) previously held the position of Group Development Director.
Following the acquisition of Hazlewood Foods in January 2001, Patrick has played
a key role in the on-going restructuring of the combined businesses and the
elimination of non-core activities.

Patrick joined Greencore in 1998 and was co-opted to the Board in 2001. Prior to
joining Greencore, he worked with McKinsey & Company Management Consultants, in
London, Dublin and Amsterdam, and KPMG Corporate Finance in Dublin and
Amsterdam.

Commenting on the new appointment, David Dilger, Chief Executive of Greencore
Group plc said, 'Kevin O'Sullivan has given invaluable service to Greencore over
the last ten years and, on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank him for
the very significant contribution that he made during his time with the company.

This is an exciting and challenging time for Greencore and the transformation of
the Group into a pan European consumer food group, which is well underway, will
be continued apace by our experienced, determined and youthful executive team.
Patrick is already an integral part of this team and will be an astute and
dynamic finance director during this important phase in the company's
development.
