AGM Statement

Goldplat plc / Ticker: GDP / Index: AIM / Sector: Mining & Exploration 14 October 2008 Goldplat plc ('Goldplat' or 'the Company') AGM Statement Goldplat plc, the AIM listed gold producer, held its Annual General Meeting today and all resolutions were duly passed. At the meeting, Goldplat Chairman, Brian Moritz, made the following statement: "During the year we have made considerable progress in advancing our three primary gold assets across Africa. Our first mining project, Kilimapesa Gold in Kenya, is due to commence production in Q4 this year following the accumulation of stockpiles to feed the newly refurbished processing plant where we invested US$500,000. Our South African and Ghanaian gold recovery plants are performing buoyantly with revenues steadily increasing and we doubled our pre-tax profits to £1,624,000 for FY 2007-08. "I believe that Goldplat is now ideally placed to build upon its successes to realise its true potential in becoming a gold mining house with a solid portfolio of producing assets across Africa. In line with this, we are actively looking to expand our asset base through the acquisition of known deposits with targets of between 200,000 and one million ounces of gold contained. In line with this we are currently evaluating targets in South Africa, Mozambique, Ghana and Kenya. In addition, we plan to develop further gold recovery businesses to capitalise on our position as market leader. Currently we are evaluating opportunities in Tanzania and Zambia and we look forward to updating the market in due course." * * ENDS * * For further information visit www.goldplat.com or contact: Demetri Manolis, CEO Goldplat plc Tel: +27 11 423 1203 James Joyce /Sarang Shah WH Ireland Limited Tel: 020 7220 1666 Bill Sharp/Andrew Garrett Alexander David Securities Tel: +44 (0)20 Limited 7448 9820 Felicity Edwards/ Isabel St Brides Media & Finance Tel: 020 7236 Crossley Ltd 1177 Notes Goldplat plc is an AIM-listed gold producer with operations in Africa.
