Directors' Shareholdings 

Genus announces that conditional nil-cost share options were today granted under the Genus 2004 Performance Share Plan (the 'Plan') to Mr Richard Wood, Chief Executive, as to 69,071 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company ('Ordinary Shares'). These options are subject to performance conditions which relate to growth in the Company's earnings per share. 

Mr Richard Wood's shareholding stands at 20,200 Ordinary Shares which represents 0.03% of the issued share capital of the Company which is currently 59,505,030 Ordinary Shares.  In addition, he remains the beneficial owner of 411,656 conditional share awards and nil cost share options under the Plan.

The Company has also been notified that Professor Barry Furr, Non Executive Director, today purchased 3,000 Ordinary Shares at a price of 680p per share. Following this transaction Professor Barry Furr's shareholding in the Company now stands at 3,000 Ordinary Shares which represents 0.005% of the issued share capital of the Company.
