                             Director Shareholding


In order to satisfy institutional demand, Richard Wood, Chief Executive, today
exercised options  totalling 43,414 ordinary shares of 10 pence each ('Ordinary
Shares') at a price of 173 pence per  Ordinary Share, and 43,414 Ordinary Shares
were today sold on behalf of Richard Wood at 615  pence per Ordinary Share.

Richard Wood's direct shareholding now stands at 59,400 Ordinary Shares which
represents 0.1% of  issued share capital of the Company which is currently
56,025,144 Ordinary Shares. In addition, he  remains the beneficial owner of
439,470 options and conditional shares.
