On Tuesday 26 February 2008, Sports Direct International Plc ("Sports Direct")
through Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander Capital Markets Ltd, purchased 5,650,000
of its ordinary shares at an average price of 122 pence per ordinary share.  The
ordinary shares purchased on 26 February 2008 will be held for cancellation.



The total number of ordinary shares in issue, following the above purchase and
cancellation, (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 575,312,593.
