NEW TANKER DELIVERY
James Fisher & Sons plc, one of the UK's leading marine services providers,
announces the delivery of the second of its two new 12,800 dwt tankers, the
Clyde Fisher, from the Samho Shipbuilding Company Ltd in Korea.
The first ship from Samho, the Cumbrian Fisher, was delivered in December and
this week entered service in Milford Haven.
In addition, two new 5,000 dwt vessels, the Shannon Fisher and the Solway Fisher
are expected to be delivered in late 2005 and mid 2006 respectively. All four
vessels have been acquired in the form of ten-year bareboat charters.
The average age of James Fisher's fleet is already lower than that of its main
competitors but the Company intends to maintain this advantage and build a
modern fleet that will maintain market leadership in the UK.
Nick Henry, Chief Executive, said: 'This represents another important milestone
in our fleet replacement programme, which has been completed in line with the
timescale when we announced the orders a year ago.'
