REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES

The Board of Finsbury Growth Trust Plc announces that on 27 September 2000 the
Company repurchased for cancellation 1,030,000 of the Company's ordinary shares
of 25p, representing 2.5% of the issued ordinary share capital, at a price of
203.25p per share.

To date the Company has repurchased a total of 5,746,070 ordinary shares,
representing 12.5% of the original issued ordinary share capital.  There are
40,253,930 ordinary shares remaining in issue.
