REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES

The Board of Finsbury Growth Trust PLC announces that on 26 October 2000 the
Company repurchased for cancellation 40,000 of the Company's ordinary shares of
25p, representing 0.1% of the issued ordinary share capital, at a price of
200.225p per share.

To date the Company has repurchased a total of 6,718,570 ordinary shares,
representing 14.5% of the original issued ordinary share capital.  There are
39,281,430 ordinary shares remaining in issue.
