NOTIFICATION OF DIRECTORS' SHARE TRANSACTIONS

The company reports the following transactions in the company's ordinary shares
of 40p by directors:

1.      On 26 February 2004, Richard Palmer purchased 10,000 shares at a price
        of 202p each

2.      Also on 26 February 2004, Ann Wilson purchased 8,000 shares at a price
        of 202p each.

As a result of the above transactions, those directors' shareholdings are now:

1.      Richard Palmer 532,000 shares (0.99% of the total issued share capital)
2.      Ann Wilson 393,356 shares (0.73% of the total issued share capital).
